In the Closet and Closeted are slang metaphors used to describe a metahuman who has not disclosed his or her status as a superhuman to others. A character who is maintaining a Secret Identity is said to be "in the closet". The term was adopted by the metahuman community from its origins in the gay and lesbian community. However, there is no implication in the metahuman community that living "in the closet" means ones life is false or unhappy.
