Sports have not been heavily affected by the superhuman phenomena, simply because all sports organizations (other than those behind professional wrestling) have prohibited participation by superhumans in anything but exhibition matchess. Nevertheless, whenever a talented athlete turns in a truly spectacular performance, rumors will immediately fly that the athlete is actually a hidden superhuman. Since 1986, individuals competing in most national and international sporting events, as well as playing in most professional sports leagues, have had to undergo genetic screening using the Rothlyn-Dalburt Test.
As a side note, in 1979, nine superhuman athletes formed a baseball team which they called the New York Supers, and played in a charity exhibition game against the then World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. In front of a packed stadium, the Pirates beat the Supers 9-7.
